7) "Happy Child" Nursery School in Maadi

For refugee toddlers in need of care and creative play, "Refuge Egypt. operates the "Happy Child" Nursery School in Maadi.  The children play in a light and clean environment where they also receive some basic preparatory reading and writing instruction, and volunteers come in to read to them.  Your donation will help cover the operation costs of the nursery.

8) Educating Sudanese Children at
     Kilo Arbaa wa Nus

Non-Egyptians are not allowed to attend Egyptian government schools, but refugees cannot afford private education.  In fact, many of the almost 250 children at the Displaced Sudanese Children's Learning Center in Arbaa wa Nus, a very poor suburb of Cairo, cannot even afford the LE 75 yearly tuition which the school charges them.  The board estimates that if 100 people were to give LE 85 or 15 USD per month, they could cover the operating budget for an entire year, and the Sudanese children and teachers would get a nourishing breakfast every day as well.

9) Income Generation Project for
     Single Refugee Mothers

To help single refugee mothers start their own business - baking, sewing, embroidering, painting - "Refuge Egypt" grants micro-loans in the form of supplies.  The women are asked to pay back 50% of the loan in cash two months after receiving it.  This project has successfully helped women become self-supporting.  Your gift will help cover the cost of the supplies given to the women.
